How do Pet Wellness Plans Work?
Our clients are always looking for ways to put their pets' health above their own financial concerns to make sure their companions get the best care possible. As important as routine preventive care can be for your pet, though, it may still be difficult sometimes to manage their recurring expenses.
Our Wellness Plans 'bundles' all the preventive services that keep your pet healthy throughout the year into an easy monthly payment plan, helping you save money and manage your budget.
What is included in a Pet Wellness Plan?
Our Pet Wellness Plans for cats and dogs in Poway include the essentials for your pet to thrive.
Our Plans include annual and 6-month wellness exams, core vaccinations, bloodwork, and heartworm testing. They will also include a fecal exam and a 12-month supply of flea, tick, and heartworm prevention medications.
The Importance of Preventive Care
Wellness exams are a total health checkup for your pet. They give your vets a chance to find and treat health issues as they emerge or even prevent them altogether. They also allow our vets to ensure your pet's diet is giving them enough daily nutrients.
Sometimes pets can appear healthy, but the early signs of disease can lurk in their bodies - sometimes with no obvious symptoms. That’s why we run bloodwork to ensure they’re in tip-top shape.
Parasites can be serious threats to the health of a pet of any size if not promptly treated. This is why we offer 12-month supplies of tick, flea, and heartworm medications with all of our Pet Wellness Plans.
If your pet does become infected, our fecal exams and heartworm tests are designed to catch these life-threatening conditions, which are often undetectable until your pet gets seriously ill.

Can I pay for a full year up front?
Yes, you absolutely can pay for the full year of care when you sign up for a Pet Wellness Plan.
An additional $35 one-time membership fee is collected upon enrollment whether you pay the monthly fee or the entire cost upfront.

Do Wellness Plans renew automatically after a year?
Yes, unless you request that we cancel your plan, it will renew automatically each year.

How do I make the monthly payments?
You will enter your payment information into a secure portal when you sign up for one of our plans. You can choose between the 1st and the 15th each month based on what is best for you.

How does a Pet Wellness Plan help me manage my finances?

I have more than one pet. Can I get a discount on multiple wellness plans?
When you sign up multiple pets at the same time, you will only pay the one-time $35 enrollment fee once (not for each pet).

My pet is getting older. Does it make sense to buy a Wellness Plan?
Wellness Plans can help to keep senior pets feeling well as they grow older. Your pet's Wellness Plan can be customized to their unique recurring needs, including any age-related conditions or health requirements. Our Pet Wellness Plans for older pets include all standard core services in addition to screening tests for a range of age-related diseases, conditions and disorders.

My pet is young and healthy. Does it make sense to buy a Wellness Plan?
Regular preventive veterinary care for young animals can help build a foundation for good life-long health. When you sign your pet up for a Wellness Plan as a puppy or kitten, puppy/kitten vaccinations are included in the monthly fee.

Should I invest in a Pet Wellness Plan every year?
We strongly recommend it. Pet Wellness Plans allow our clients to manage the cost of their pets' routine veterinary care and help to make sure that our patients get the care that they need regularly.

What happens if my pet passes during the 12-month commitment?
If your pet passes away during your 12-month commitment, we will cancel the plan immediately.

What is the difference between a Pet Wellness Plan and pet insurance?
While both Wellness Plans and pet insurance help you manage the costs of your pet's veterinary care, the types of veterinary services they cover are different.
Wellness Plans include preventive care costs (things like vaccinations and routine exams), while Pet Insurance is designed to cover emergency services, accidents, or specific illnesses.

What types of Pet Wellness Plans do you offer?
We offer Pet Wellness Plans for small dogs, medium dogs, large dogs, extra-large dogs, giant dogs and cats.

Will the Wellness Plan cover all of my pet's healthcare needs?
Wellness plans cover the routine care that all cats and dogs need (core vaccines, heartworm prevention, flea prevention, and more). You will also receive a 10% discount on any other service your pet needs, excluding food and grooming.
